We purchased a couch

We purchased a couch, as well as some office chairs and desks from west elm. The experience was normal. We went in and saw it for ourselves in the store and then we placed the order. The only thing that gives a 4 star instead of 5 was delays in shipping which were not communicated until we were expecting the order to arrive.

Verve rug in peacock photo sample on West Elm website does not represent true colors of rug

After visiting a West Elm store in Texas, I decided to order the verve rug in peacock. They did not have a sample of the rug in peacock but showed it to me online and I was happy with the sample quality in another color they had on display.The rug is much darker and has more pink then the sample online. I am ok with the rug but I do not want anyone to purchase and not be aware of the difference, because it is a big one! And, the rug cannot be returned. I’d be happy to send a pic to anyone who needs to compare.

I’ve ordered a few items from west elm, and they’ve always come in ahead of or on schedule, and in excellent condition! I can’t say enough good things about my Nightstand and bed frame!!!

Great customer service*****

I had a problem with some dining chairs that i bought for my daughter 11 months ago that came defective and the West Elm Manager Mil Velunza went out and beyond to help us and resolve our issues. My experience has always been and still is 5 stars!I could not have had better service at any other place. Thank you West Elm. I will for sure come back and shop, you guys really stand behind your products.

Huge Fail by West Elm but Director of AU Saves the Day!

(Update with happy ending posted at the end) I previously was a big fan. I even used West Elm for my wedding registry. On April 2018 I ordered 3 bookcases that they showed online were in stock. Much to my surprise only 1 arrived and they said the other 2 were back ordered. Each month following I would receive an email with a new arrival date then a week or two later I would receive another back order notice. This has gone on 8 months! After each email from them I would call customer svc to discuss. They gave me assurance after assurance the book cases would arrive. Based on this assurances we renovated the room they were going in. We added recessed wall lights to accommodate their particular width and did the same with an electrical outlet to be placed behind each one. We then installed the one we did have. I began getting worried and called and asked twice for a mgr/supervisor to call me but no one did. I was even told they had all the components but were waiting on the last one to arrive. Then 8 months later I get an order cancelllation notice. I finally got through to a manager on the international team who listened and spoke to me at great length and promised to look into and call back in 3-4 days. Two weeks have gone by now and still no call. Have made multiple attempts to reach int’l manager again but they claim she is either not in or I get agents that claim to not know who she is. I now have a single bookcase I can’t use as I need 3 and I have potentially ruined my ceiling and walls as the placement of lights and outlets was based on this particular bookcase size. I can’t begin to communicate how upset I am and disgusted with how I’ve been treated and their seemingly lack of concern. If anyone at West Elm is monitoring, my order number is 617999. Please redeem yourself and you might win me back! You are not going to win an Australian customer base with this type of poor customer service.Review Update: The Director of West Elm’s operations in AU got word of our situation and reached out to us to help. He could not have been more empathetic and sincerely wanted to help. He and his team sourced the missing components and brought them all together here in AU to complete our order. It’s taken 11 months but I’m happy to report they have arrived and look fantastic. We are very appreciative of how our order was reinstated and filled and based on this experience will continue to do business with West Elm.

Seamless experience. Do not be put-off by other reviews.

Before ordering from West Elm, I visited the Trust Pilot website to see their ratings/reviews and was shocked by what I read. Almost all one-star reviews and scathing comments. I was VERY close to being completely deterred, but I really wanted the three items I saw, all of which were on sale, so I decided to order them anyway and just hope for the best. I have to say that I had an absolutely seamless experience. I received an order confirmation email, and within a couple of days was contacted by the delivery partner, who sent me a link to select my delivery date - the first available date was about 2 weeks away, but I was fine with that, and what I expected. I was also able to select a weekend delivery day. I was updated 48 hours prior to delivery with a two-hour time-slot, and then was called by the driver 30 mins before arriving within that slot. The delivery team brought my items up to the 4th floor. I had been forced to pay for assembly of my furniture item during the order process, but I did not particularly need assembly (as I could do it myself), so I requested that the drivers do not assemble the product, and then called West Elm customer services (who are open all day, from 9am to 9pm) - the sales rep was friendly and was very happy to issue me with a £50 refund since I did not need the assembly (verified by the delivery team). I received the refund back onto my card within a few days of requesting it. The items are perfect, well-packaged, easy to assemble, and beautiful. I literally have zero complaints. Please do not be put off by the other reviews.
